Standards & Codes

The Indian concrete code family is a toolkit, not a single book — and using the wrong tool is how clauses get misquoted on site. This guide maps the family: IS 456:2000 for the code of practice, IS 10262:2019 for mix proportioning, IS 383:2016 for aggregates, the IS 516 family for hardened-concrete testing, IS 9103:1999 for admixtures and the IS 1199 parts for fresh concrete — and where ACI 211 or BS 8500 fit on international projects.
